Let me try and put into context just how fucking amazing ‘Back To Momo’ actually is a second. Okay, you remember the instant buzz you got when you discovered a great new band nearly every other Wednesday via the pages of Kerrang! – when it was still the go to magazine for the next big thing? Remember those LPs you picked up by the likes of Royal Court Of China, Sea Hags, and of course Guns N’ Roses. Well the moment I put on ‘Alive-N-Well And Smack In The Middle Of Hell’ the opening track proper from Black List Union’s fourth album I immediately got those Spidey sense tingling just like back in the day. Jeez, guitar sound aside (I’ll get to that bit in a second) this track could actually be off ‘Appetite For Destruction’ it’s that colossal.

DSCN6179-copy-2Blacklist Union’s flamboyant and charismatic frontman, Tony West has had more than his share of tragedy over the course of his lifetime. Tony ran away to Hollywood at age 13 in order to escape the abusive childhood he was being raised in. Growing up on the streets of Hollywood was no easy task as West had to overcome personal adversity, drug abuse, and much more in order to rise to the top and become the man he is today. Through hard work and luck, West managed to survive and follow his passion to make a career out of music. Although his is a true story of rock and roll in the streets, it’s an upbringing and path that he certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone, especially the weak at heart.

Event takes place Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA

On Friday January 23rd, 2015 the madness continues with Randy Rhoads Remembered: A Celebration of a Guitar Legend! RRR salutes Rhoads, the brilliant, original Ozzy Osbourne guitarist. Show creator Brian Tichy and partner Joe Sutton conceived this event in 2013 after agreeing years before that Randy Rhoads deserved fresh recognition for his musical impact. They are both huge fans of Rhoads. Tichy himself played with Ozzy Osbourne in 2000. On top of the best guitar players in the world rocking their favorite Rhoads’ songs, Randy’s brother Kelle Rhoads performs and both his sister Kathy and he share their stories making this a very touching and personal experience for all involved!

On top of the already stellar lineup, RRR proudly announces the following newly added artists to the January 23rd show: Dewey Bragg (Kill Devil Hill/ MOTH) Tracii Guns (Devil City Angels) Mitch Perry (MSG / Edgar Winter) Monte Pittman (Madonna) Jeff Watson (Night Ranger) Mark Zavon (Kill Devil Hill) Roy Z (Halford / Bruce Dickinson / Tribe of Gypsies). RRR will be hosted by Rock n’ Roll Comedian Dean Delray, Bonzo Bash Producer Joe Sutton and show creator Brian Tichy.

Producers Brian Tichy and Joe Sutton have been creating unique celebration concerts since 2010, and have now combined them all. Dubbed “California Music Fest: 3 Days of Music & Madness,” this festival coincides with NAMM January 22, 23 & 24, 2015. In addition to RRR, it also includes Bonzo Bash 2015 NAMM JAMM  on Thursday, Jan 22nd, and Entwistle/ Moon: The Ox & The Loon on Saturday, Jan 24th.

Randy Rhoads Remembered was the second celebration event produced by Tichy & Sutton, with the first one selling out and taking place during NAMM weekend 2014. With 11 Bonzo Bashes, 6 RRR’s, and 1 Entwistle/Moon later, they have taken RRR to both coasts receiving nothing but rave reviews. The upcoming RRR during California Music Fest 2015 is sure to be the mightiest one yet! The show highlights the industry’s top guitarists playing every song from the iconic Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman records and then some!  TIchy says, “I can’t wait for RRR, Bonzo Bash and Entwistle/Moon to happen! These shows are so unique and high-spirited! I get to play drums all night at RRR with so many amazing players on records I learned from as a kid! To me, there’s no cooler place to be than at these mighty events! I feel like a wildebeest that’s made it across a croc-infested river onto fresh grassland; heartily content!”

Blacklist Union Signs With Doug Goldstein and
When Pigs Fly Entertainment

BAND READIES NEW SINGLE, VIDEO, AND ALBUM

(10 December 2014 – Los Angeles, CA)

bluLos Angeles hard rock act Blacklist Union have signed a management deal with Doug Goldstein and When Pigs Fly Entertainment. Goldstein, who famously took on Guns N’ Roses in 1991 and Blind Melon, amongst others, will guide Blacklist Union through the next phase of their career.

The band has also brought in Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen to fill the role of Creative Director and Blacklist Union mainstay, Tony West, had this to say about the new relationship, “It’s great to finally have someone that delivers and the controversy doesn’t overshadow the music.” And per Cohen’s participation, “I’m super excited to be working with her.”

Doug Goldstein: “Back to Momo is the best rock record I’ve heard since “Appetite For Destruction” and remarked that “Tony West is the hardest working rock star that I have ever known.”

Blacklist Union has also completed work on their new single, “Alive N Well Smack in the Middle of Hell.” Produced by Chris Johnson, the song has a positive message and is about surviving amongst the madness and not letting the sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll kill you. No matter what, you will be okay and make it through. The single will be released on 11 January 2015.

A video for the track has been shot and was directed and produced by Matt Zane of Society 1. The band is really going to push the envelope with this high quality production video and showcase taboo and voodoo at its finest.

“Alive N Well Smack in the Middle of Hell” will be featured on the upcoming album, Back To Momo, which is due to be released on 24 April 2015.
